Colombia is facing a major humanitarian crisis after a powerful magnitude Mw 7.4 earthquake struck the western part of the country on August 10, 2026. The earthquake, centered near San José del Palmar in the Chocó department, occurred at a depth of approximately 110.3 kilometres, sending powerful tremors across large parts of Colombia. The disaster has reportedly left more than 254 people dead, 2,597 injured and thousands missing, while more than 1,575 homes have been destroy
