Forests, often referred to as the "lungs of the Earth," play a critical role in regulating the climate. They absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere, helping to mitigate the impacts of global warming. However, every year, millions of acres of forests are being cleared for agriculture, urbanization, and logging.

Why does this matter?

  • Loss of Carbon Sinks: When forests are cut down or burned, the carbon stored in the trees is released back into the atmosphere, exacerbating the greenhouse effect. 🏚️
